Athens Staff

010 Barb has been the office manager at Athens since the spring of 1993. She and her family moved to the Columbus area from the coast of Mississippi where she was also employed as an office manager of an AAHA clinic for 8 years. Barb is also known as the “cat lady” with an ever changing population of indoor cats – all rescues!  She also feeds a multitude of outdoor critters.
Athens Animal Clinic staff  Joni works in the treatment and surgery area at Athens Animal Clinic. She has been at Athens since 1987. Joni really likes the hands on work with the patients. She has several indoor pets – 2 very spoiled Terrier Chihuahua mixes named L See and Terdina, an Irish Setter named Scarlet and an Irish Wolfhound named Hagatha.  They also have 2 cats, Less-ter who has 3 legs and Eggroll, who is very anti-social to humans but loves dogs.  She also has several barn cats.

Athens Animal Clinic staff  Amy started working at Athens in the summer of 2004. She has learned valuable techniques in animal care and prevention. On February 3, 2015 she gave birth to her first child, a healthy baby boy, named Isaac. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Amy has one very spoiled cocker spaniel named Payge and a pit bull mix named Che’.
IMG_20131005_083116_788  Shelby started working full time at Athens in May of 2010 after graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Animal Agribusiness.  She was a 10 year 4-H member where she enjoyed showing beef cattle and pigs and participated in the Veterinary Science project.  Shelby loves being on the family farm with the cows and border collies, Sky, Ice and Hitch, as well as spending time with their cats, Maggie and Jinx. Watching and helping her mom in the vet profession growing up, sparked her interest and passion for animal health care. This led her back home to join the family business.

Athens Animal Clinic staff Christina started at Athens early fall of 2013. She has been a Vet Assistant for 8+ years. She comes from a retired military family. She and her husband have a 3 year old son named Cole.  They also have a dog named Vader; two cats, Ava and Shooter and a ferret named Monkey.
photo  Cordel, who was born in Indianapolis but raised in Columbus, has been working at Athens since he was about 15. He has always loved and grown up around animals, including your average dog, cat, bird and fish to rats, chickens, goats, ferrets, ducks, guinea pigs and rabbits. In his free time he enjoys working on his vehicle and spending time with family and friends.
April-small  April started at Athens in the summer of 2014. She has worked in the Veterinary field for over 10 years. Originally from the Indianapolis area, but now has lived in Columbus for over 16 years. She has a son named Lance, who is 18. They have 2 dogs, a Beagle Mix named Pepper and Shepherd Mix named Luka. They also have 2 cats, Apple and Jackrabbit, who are brother and sister. When not working at the clinic she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Athens Animal Clinic staff Diana Wolf graduated in 2011 from the Vet Tech Institute at International Business College in Indianapolis, Indiana.  She completed her externship at Indy Vet. Diana worked at a veterinary in Mooresville, In before coming to Athens in December 2014. Her “fur-babies” at this time are 2 cats – Page (a tortie) and Loki (a flame point).
